Today, you will hike beneath the imposing west wall of the La Crusc, which is part of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. You’ll take a cable car ride up to La Crusc at 2,047m. There stands a chapel dating back to 1484, and in 1718, the Holy Cross Hospice was added next to it.
Today, this protected building serves as a mountain hut. You’ll start by walking along the Stations of the Cross, and then ascend in switchbacks to the Forcella de Medesc at 2,533m. Here, you’ll be rewarded with an impressive view of the karst plateau that stretches expansively between the peaks of the La Crusc Group to the east.
You’ll hike through meadows, pastures, and forests to San Cassiano, a village nestled idyllically beneath the imposing rock walls of the Piz Cunturines, Piz Lavarela, and Lagazuoi. From here, you’ll take a public bus to your next hotel in Corvara.

Today, you will ascend two peaks of the La Crusc Group, the La Crusc at 2,908m and its highest peak, the Zehner Spitze at 3,026m. The La Crusc Group is part of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park.
You will start with a cable car ride to La Crusc at 2,047m, where a chapel dating back to 1484 stands. In 1718, the Holy Cross Hospice was added next to it, and today, this protected building serves as a mountain hut.
Those choosing today’s stage should have a head for heights, be sure-footed, and be proficient in climbing techniques with a difficulty level of B/C. It is highly recommended to bring climbing gear, including a climbing helmet.
