Characteristics of the Trip
Each stage offers three route options: easy, intermediate and challenging. Every day, you can choose the option that best suits your fitness level, experience and how you are feeling that day.
Most mornings begin with a short transfer directly from your accommodation. With just a light daypack, you will hike across blooming alpine meadows and along panoramic trails offering spectacular views of the Dolomites, or follow historic paths dating back to World War I. You can stop at cosy mountain huts along the way to enjoy South Tyrolean cuisine. In the afternoon, you will reach your next accommodation, with your main luggage having been conveniently transferred for you.
The Dolomites Ronda 3 is an individual, self-guided hiking trip, ideal for travellers who appreciate being able to set their own pace. You are well equipped with detailed travel documents, GPS data and access to ASI’s emergency hotline. However, you will need basic map reading and orientation skills — after all, it is this independence that makes a self-guided hiking trip so rewarding.
This is a journey full of nature, history and stunning views — each step is a small adventure.
Day 1 – Welcome in South Tyrol

We recommend environmentally friendly train travel for your arrival – it’s comfortable and stress-free. Please note that parking spaces in Dobbiaco and at the Helm cable car are limited.
